Insurance & Damage Excess 

All of our cars are third party insured. Hence, in case of an accident, you will not be liable unless the damage is attributable to your fault which should be proved by a police report. Furthermore, your car comes with our standard collision damage waiver (CDW) and damage excess of £1000- £2000 (depending on the category of car) which do not cover tyres and windscreen.

Economy & Budget Cars: damage excess of £1000

Family Compact Cars: damage excess of £1250

People Carrier Budget: damage excess of £1500

People Carrier Comfort: damage excess of £1750

SUV: damage excess of £2000

You may, however, inquire about the availability of Extended Coverage for £10 - £15 per day, which includes windscreen protection and also reduces the Damage Excess from £500 - £1200 to only £100. Please note that neither third-party insurance nor the extended coverage includes tyres, cigarette burns, glass, lights, mirrors, keys, interior accessories (mechanic and electrical components) and undercarriage of the vehichle.

Your Extended Coverage will not cover the damages and losses which exceed the standard Excess liability amount in case the damage/loss is attributable to your fault.

Your insurance policy, CDW and Extended Coverage will be void under the following circumstances, regardless of whether you purchased an Extended Coverage or not:

1- If the vehicle is used by an unauthorized driver whose name is not included in the rental contract;

2- If the Police Station and Bellapais Rent A Car are not informed regarding the accident;

4- If there is no Police Report in respect of the accident causing the damage to the car;

5- If the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and

6- If the damage/loss to the car is attributable to the wilfull conduct of the driver.

Upon the occurence of an accident, you have to immediately contact the Police Station and also inform and Bellapais Rent A Car via +90 542 8574107 or +90 542 8853080 or +90 542 8511240. Emergency phone numbers are available on the front of your rental contract.

Economy Cars (suitable for 2 adults + 2 children): Suzuki Splash, Suzuki Alto, Daihatsu Mira, Toyota Pixis or Similar

Budget Cars (suitable for 4 adults + 1 children): Nissan Note, Nissan March, Toyota Passo, Ford Fiesta (manual) or Similar

Family Compact Cars (suitable for 5 adults): Honda Fit, Toyata Axio, Ford Focus (manual) or Similar

People Carrier Budget (suitable for 4 adults + 3 children): Toyota Sienta

People Carrier Comfort (suitable for 5 adults + 2 children): Honda Freed

SUV (suitable for 5 adults): Hyundai Kona, Nissan Juke

Please note that we do not guarantee delivery of the specific brand of car submitted via your reservation form. Although we pay attention to your request, we deliver cars within the same category depending on availability. If we do not have an available car within the same category, we will either deliver a higher category car or a lower category car at lower rates.

Airport Transfers

For Larnaca and Paphos airport transfers between 00:00 - 06:00, additional service charge of GBP 20/way shall be added to the standard rates.

Furthermore, the airport transfer prices indicated in our website are the special offer prices when the airport transfer and car hire are booked together. Mere airport transfer prices (without rental cars) are as follows:

1. Larnaca Airport GBP 75/way;

2. Ercan Airport GBP 40/way; and 

3. Paphos Airport GBP 140/way.

Submission of Reservation Forms

Please be aware that once you submit a reservation form via our website and receive an email acknowledging the receipt of reservation details, this does not mean that your reservation is confirmed. Upon receipt of your reservation form, the details of which are also sent to your email simultaneously, we check the availability and contact you via email or mobile as soon as possible regarding the availability of the chosen car. Please note that, as we notified you after submitting your reservation form, unless you receive a separate confirmation voucher from us, your reservation will not be deemed confirmed.

Payments

You can pay the rental and/or transfer costs during pick-up by card or cash in British Pounds, EURO, US Dollars or Turkish Lira.

Driving License and Minimum Age

All International and national licenses are accepted.Renter must be in possession of valid license in order to hire a car in Northern Cyprus.

In addition to the driving license, the driver should either be 25-year-old with minimum 3 years of driving experience or 23-year-old with minimum 5 years of driving experience. For those who do not meet the age and/or experience requirement can only be offered with an Economy Category Car with double CDW liability. 

Pick-Up and Drop-off at Ercan Airport

Your car hire can be delivered to and/or picked up from Ercan Airport upon your arrival and/or departure free of charge for rentals of 7 or more days, except for deliveries between 00:00 - 05:30 am.

For deliveries to/from Ercan Airport for rentals of 3-6 days, or for those between 00:00 - 05:30 am, we will charge an additional £25 each way.

Upon your arrival at Ercan Airport, our staff will meet you in the arrivals section, holding a sign with your name to deliver the car.

On your return, please be aware that you must leave the car in the open-air car park and place the keys under the driver's mat. Once you have parked the car, please take photos of it and send them to us via WhatsApp at +90 542 8574107 or email them to [email protected] to avoid any disputes in the event of damage, loss, or incorrect parking.

You cannot leave the rental car in front of the airport or any other place apart from the open air car park. 

Additional Driver

You can register two drivers for each car for free of charge. However, you are not allowed to register more than two drivers.

Baby Seats and Boosters

£3 per day per baby seat and £1 per day per booster seat. We have limited number of baby-seats. Please book your baby seat at same time of your car.

Delivery Charge

Your car hire can be delivered / picked up to/from your address – free of charge with 7+ days of car hire and/or when you rental car is booked together with a return airport transfer.

Your car hire can be delivered to and/or picked up from Ercan Airport upon your arrival and/or departure free of charge for rentals of 7 or more days, except for deliveries between 00:00 - 05:30 am.

For deliveries to/from Ercan Airport for rentals of 3-6 days, or for those between 00:00 - 05:30 am, we will charge an additional £25 each way.

During summer season, we may not be able to deliver our cars to Iskele, Bafra, Famagusta, Güzelyurt and Lefke for short rentals. 

Traffic Fines

All traffic fines incurred during the rental period are the renter's responsibility.

Driving in South Cyprus

Please adhere to the following guidelines to drive the rented car in South Cyprus:

1. Pay the deposit of car. Deposit amount varies depending on the category of car.

2. Obtain the necessary permission paper from us, priced at £45.00. This paper permits you to drive the car from the Turkish border to the Greek border.

3. Present the permission paper to the officer at the Turkish border.

4. After crossing the Turkish border, you will reach the Greek border. At this point, you must show your passports and acquire Greek Insurance and Road Tax, costing 25 Euros (subject to change), required for driving in South Cyprus.

5. Purchase the insurance and Road Tax from the Greek Border offices.

6. Commence driving in South Cyprus.

Please note that the Greek offices are exclusively located on the Metehan Border in Nicosia, and their operating hours are limited to weekdays until 14:00, with closures during Greek national holidays. Ensure you plan your holiday accordingly as failure to acquire the necessary paperwork will prevent you from driving in South Cyprus. To check if the Greek offices are open, you can contact the Greek insurance office at +357-22-454700 or the local police at +357 22802838. Bellapais Rent a Car will not be held liable if you are unable to cross the border for any reason.

Once the car crosses into South Cyprus, it will no longer be fully insured by Bellapais Rent a Car. You must purchase insurance at the Greek Border, which will only provide 3rd Party coverage. Please read the insurance terms carefully before purchasing it at the border.
